Collections Collector Junior - Calgary

Reports to: Office Administrator Location: Calgary.

Job Summary

The Regional Collection Clerk is responsible for accurately and efficiently posting, processing, verifying and reconciling all account receivable transactions for regional branch customers. The position has an above average scope of responsibility for the position. The position has a direct impact on corporate profitability through the accurate and timely processing of payments. The ideal candidate has had a minimum of 1 to 3 years of related collection experience.

Job Description:

  • Calling customers for payments.
  • Advises Collection Manager and sometimes the sales team regarding short payments, NSF cheques, changes to the account status such as growth or downsizing and other customer issues and follow-up to resolution in a timely manner.
  • Performs related clerical functions within the Credit Department such as filing, recording information, preparing reports, checking credit applications, setting up new accounts, assisting staff and other duties as required.
  • At times may be required to assist and or fill in for Accounts Receivable.

Skill/Knowledge Requirements:

  • In depth knowledge of the AS400 Distribution System.
  • Detail Oriented.
  • Efficient and accurate data entry skills.
  • Computer literate in a Windows operating environment.
  • Strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Able to effectively provide spoken explanations or instructions.
  • Effective problem solving skills.
  • Well-developed customer, product and Company capability knowledge.
  • Ability to favorably represent the Company image to customers and co-workers.

Tool Requirements:

  • Maintain a professional attitude.
  • Customer measurement system to identify non-performing exceptions requiring action.
  • Personal computer experience including Outlook.
